Review: Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup

Calling all liquid foundation lovers!

My search for the perfect liquid foundation has ended (for real, this is the only foundation that I’ve actually purchased more than once). I’ve spent my lifetime (well, my makeup years) trying to find the perfect foundation, and here it is:

Urban Decay’s Naked Skin liquid foundation is amazing. It helps your skin achieve a natural-looking makeup look. The foundation is lightweight and thin and goes on really nicely. It’s also loaded with tons of nourishing ingredients that help to keep your skin hydrated. I have dry skin, and it seriously works for me.

It’s formulated without parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, phthalates, GMOs, ticlosan… Let’s just say that I have sensitive skin and this foundation has never bothered me in the slightest.

The foundation lasts for the majority of the day, but I can usually see it wearing off by the time I get home at the end of a 9-5 work day. Can’t complain too much about that, though. I haven’t found another foundation that lasts any longer. They do have a solution to this if you don’t mind adding just one more product to your makeup bag–the Chill Makeup Setting Spray (also by Urban Decay) is cooling and hydrating (especially good for the summer months!), oil free, paraben free, etc. It really helps my makeup last on those longer than 9-5 days!

I wear shade 1.0 in the Naked Skin foundation, but there is an endless colour palette when it comes to Urban Decay products. Their foundation shades follow a number system, .0 for warmer tons, and .5 for cool tones! There are twenty-four different colours, and the makeup artists at Sephora will be more than happy to help you find your perfect match 😉!

I put on this foundation with a beauty blender and top it off with a light powder foundation by MAC using the Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush (also by Urban Decay). I’ve heard that this brush is also amazing for putting on the liquid foundation, but I prefer to use my sponge. The brush is great. It’s probably one of the softest things I’ve ever felt. What a nice thing to wake up to!

My favourite part about the Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation is that you customize your look by layering the foundation as much as you want until you have the perfect look. One layer for a more natural look does the trick, but add another layer when you’re going out for the night if you want. It’s the perfect combination.

You can purchase this foundation anywhere from Shoppers Drug Mart to Sephora (and rack in the points while you’re at it!). It costs $47.00(CAD) so it’s a little pricey, and I’ve never seen it on sale, but if your tastes are anything like mine, it’s totally worth the buy. The only thing I dislike about this product is that it’s difficult to get every last drop out of the bottle. If the packaging was a little different, this might be easier, but try your best to get the most you can out of it (twist off the top and run a Q-Tip along the sides of the bottle).

My only advice is to shake well before using it.

Comment below with your favourite foundation–I’m dying to know!
